Save the date:

in Switzerland at SBB headquarters.
Connect with open source and open data communities from Transitous, MOTIS, OpenStreetMap, OpenTripPlanner, and many more!
Participation is free for everyone, but registration is required. We also offer paid business tickets to help covering the cost of the event.
Who are we?
The Open Transport Community Conference is organized by FOSSGIS e.V. and a group of people working on different transport-related open-source and open-data projects.
With this conference we want to create a space to connect with others working in the same area, to have time for exchange, learning from each other, starting collaborations.
Who is this event for?
Anyone who works in public transport, either on your free time or commercially, who is open to open source and open data.
If you are interested in topics such as the following it's probably for you:
- Schedule data, including data formats, data quality, tooling, QA as well as uses and lobby/outreach work for getting more data published.
- Shared and on-demand mobility data.
- Routing for all kinds of modalities, including routing engines, algorithms and APIs.
- Accessibility in public transport, including routing profiles, indoor routing, data standards, and elevator status data.
- Passenger-facing applications around public transport and mobility usecases.
- Transit data analysis and research supporting passenger-facing usecases.
- Operations of open source public transport routing services.
- Digital tickets beyond proprietary platforms.
- Open source solutions for community-run mobility services.
- Geocoding.
- OpenStreetMap (OSM), including tagging schemas, data importing and upstream collaboration.
- Dynamic traffic data, such as road closures, dynamic traffic signs, parking space availability and traffic flow.
- Collaboration between public transport operators/agencies and the Open Transport community.
- Community work, such as local events/meetups.
What to expect at the conference?
This will be an unconference, rather than a traditional conference.
This means less focus on talks and more on exchange and discussion. And we'll have participants play a big role in deciding which topics/sessions/workshops will feature in the program.
Have a look at the 2025 conference wiki to learn how we self-organised at last year's conference and what topics we got into.
What to expect at the hackdays?
The hackdays provide a place for people to meet and work together. Bring your own topcis and projects, and hack on them and exchange ideas with others.
Some groups such as the OpenTripPlanner or Transitous communities will organize their own agenda for the hackdays, everyone interested is welcome to join this as well.
We'll have a number of rooms available, for between 10 and 30 people each.
